The Starner Dam is reportedly haunted. People drowned in the river at its location before the dam was built. People have committed suicide there, and people have dumped murdered bodies here. One murder victim's body was found as recently as 18 February 1993. His body was in the snow-covered fishing area near Starner's Dam. The autopsy revealed that he had been shot twice in the head by a gun that was fired while held against his head. The police discovered that his wife had him murdered by her lover.

Lawyer's Hill is an area where a lot of lawyers build fine homes in Elkridge. The Lawn is a large two-story home that was built in 1830 by Judge George Dobbin. In 1951 another family purchased the home and soon learned that they were not the only ones living in the home. The door would lock and unlock itself, and the key to the old grandfather clock would disappear and would reappear later. A head of lettuce shot straight up into the air over a table where the wife was preparing dinner.

Hidden treasure and a long-pacing ghost.

Bond Castle was built on a property granted in 1649 by Cecil Calvert to Sir John Bond. The house had a cross plan, and dated from late Seventeenth Century. Treasure skilfully hidden in a chimney avoids detection, but the owner died, leaving a pacing ghost.

The eastern panther has been officially listed as an extinct animal since the mid-late 1800s. People hiking in woods and working in their yards have spotted this creature in Harford County, however. Dozens of sightings happen every year in Harford County.
